Ascension Seton To Pilot High School Apprenticeship Program
Thanks to a grant awarded through The Catalyze Challenge, Ascension Seton, in partnership with Educate Texas, will pilot a comprehensive healthcare apprenticeship program for students.
The Catalyze Challenge received more than 850 applications from organizations across the U.S. working to pioneer innovative and transformative learning models and pilot programs to boost access to high-quality career opportunities for young people.
In total, 15 organizations received grants to pilot innovative career-connected learning initiatives. The grants all focus on increasing learner agency and employer-learner engagement, and are expected to positively impact more than 25,000 learners ages 11 to 22 across the U.S.
“At Ascension Texas, we understand the important role we play in inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through the Catalyze Grant, and our partnership with Educate Texas & Workforce Solutions, we will create innovative opportunities for students across Central Texas to explore healthcare careers through paid pre-apprenticeships. Establishing robust pathways into our careers aligns with our mission to advocate for a compassionate and just society, and ensures a holistic approach to the care and well-being of our shared future,” said Ashley Dickinson, COO, Ascension Texas.
