Seton Development Board Gala raises over $600,000 for Seton Heart Institute at Seton Medical Center Austin
The Seton Development Board‘s 41st annual gala presented by HEB raised over $600,000 for cardiovascular programs and equipment at the Seton Heart Institute at Seton Medical Center Austin. The ‘Stardust’ gala held on November 4 at the Four Seasons Hotel Austin was a black-tie event featuring a lively cocktail party, an elegant four-course meal by Four Season’s Chef Elmar Prambs and live entertainment by Ricki Derek and the Vegas Six.
Lanette Smith, the Seton Development Board President, and Shannon Dowell and Evelyn Wiedeman, Gala Co-chairs, led the event honoring The Cain Foundation and their tremendous impact on our community and healthcare in Central Texas. The Cain Foundation has generously supported the Seton Development Board for 28 years with family volunteerism and innumerable charitable gifts. Their generosity and many others have helped Seton Medical Center Austin be the #1 ranked hospital and largest medical facility in the region. Seton Medical Center Austin is also the only hospital in Central Texas that performs heart transplants.
Since its inception in 1977, the Seton Development Board has raised over $15 million dollars to fund a variety of Seton services and projects, including the Marialice Shivers Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Seton Breast Care Center, state-of-the-art imaging equipment and much more.
