Ascension Seton Foundation Welcomes New Board Members

As we kick off a new fiscal year, we’re excited to share leadership updates from the Ascension Seton Foundation Board of Trustees.

We’re grateful to Andrew Morgan, who transitions to Immediate Past Chair after four years of outstanding leadership, guiding us through challenges and helping expand our impact. Special thanks as well to Pam Giblin for her dedicated service as Vice Chair for many years.

Stuart Bernstein, an Owner/Partner at CapRidge Partners, specializes in institutional real estate investment management and fundraising. He is the former Director of the Emerging Manager Program at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), overseeing early stage and middle market investments across real estate and private equity. Prior to TRS, he was an Associate at Lehman Brothers and earlier served as Executive Aide to Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, working in the Lieutenant Governor’s Office, the Texas General Land Office, and statewide campaigns.

Stuart is the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Young Texans Against Cancer, which has raised millions and contributed tens of thousands of volunteer hours for cancer-related causes. He currently serves on investment boards including Trellis Company Foundation and the Boy Scouts of Central Texas Foundation. He has held leadership and board roles with organizations such as the UT M.D. Anderson Advance Team Board, Robert Toigo Foundation, Seton Hospital Forum, Texas Golf Hall of Fame, YPO Austin, Texas Lyceum, and UT Austin’s 1883 Council. Stuart has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the Outstanding Young Texas Exes Award. He holds both a BA and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ascension Seton Foundation board memberStefanie Cavanaugh, Chief Financial Officer, Giving Home Health Care 

Stefanie Cavanaugh brings over 25 years of financial leadership experience in both public and private equity-backed healthcare organizations. As CFO of Giving Home Health Care, she led the company’s $470 million acquisition in 2022 and is now steering its transformation into a national provider of home health services for former Department of Energy employees.

She also recently completed service as a board director at Aspira Women’s Health, contributing expertise in public company governance, audit oversight, and investor relations. Her previous leadership roles include CFO positions at Apollo Endosurgery—where she completed the company’s IPO and raised over $170 million in capital—as well as executive roles at Harden Healthcare, Solis Women’s Health, and DJO. A UT Austin graduate, Stefanie also serves on the Impact Austin finance committee and Mainspring Schools Advisory Council.
