A New Heart for His Birthday: Jermaine’s Story
This month at the Ascension Seton Heart Specialty Care & Transplant Center, we celebrated an incredible milestone. On his 38th birthday, Jermaine rang the celebratory heart transplant bell — marking the end of a journey that began with a heart failure diagnosis just months ago.
In March, Jermaine went to Ascension Seton Williamson with shortness of breath. Soon after, he learned he needed a heart transplant and was admitted to Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin for advanced care. His recovery went so well that he “rang the bell” to mark the end of his hospital stay only 10 days after surgery – and on his birthday!
This moment is about more than a new heart. It’s about Jermaine’s courage, his resilience, and the compassionate, expert care of our team at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.
