Furthering Our Mission: Charity Care is at the heart of Ascension Seton’s mission to care for the poor and vulnerable.

Patient Story: Mark is a homeless man in Austin and, on most days, you can find him standing on his corner. Being

the homeless are often treated as “invisible” as though they don’t exist. He is quick to point out though, that at
Ascension Seton hospitals, he feels not only taken care of in the medical sense, but also cared about and cared for as a
person. As Mark says, at Ascension Seton he feels a sense of dignity, that he is important, and that he matters.
